I emailed this to Slaydo and wanted to post it here as well, since I let all of the comments through to the board no matter how crazy they are...

"Kelly,

You are a complete pain in the ass. LOL

Ever since you started posting on my site I cringe at every new email because you are so fucking hostile! :)

What's up with that?

I have new posts coming, and I've even worked on new videos.

I've been working my ass off getting the X-Files drawn before Comic Con. It had a tight deadline and was bigger than a normal comic. So it's taken the whole month of June to complete.

Now that I'm ready to put up new material on my site I get all your baggage. Not too cool.

Why don't you put up some art on elfwood? It's been over a year already and you ain't got shit to show for it. :P

There's enough material on my site for you to master Illustrator more than I did. And I had to discover all that shit on my own. Here you have me doing all of it for you.

Why don't you read all of my blog entries and spend at least the same amount of time working with the program as I did before you start complaining.

I noticed that you want it all now. All of your posts around the internet that I've found show you to be someonewho wants it all now, without paying your dues and earning your stripes.

Go implement some practical application before you start bitching.

You are one crazy fuck. Gotta love that about you!

Be good,
Brian Denham"

Happy birthday Brian, well, I mean, hope it was!

I agree with Jake, a new video would be great. I think that it´s a good idea to post everything here (tutos, videos, webcomics, etc).

By the way, did you know Sinfest webcomics? Very nice drawnings, clean and funny.

Best regards,

Ricardo Araki

I'd sure love to see how you use the pencil tool to ink in a face or some object. I've been trying like mad to get used to it, but can't seem to cover the area I want with one shot, so I make a lot of small fills until I cover what I want to ink. I don't know if that makes sense. I can cover the area when using the pen tool, however. Your work must take ages to do. You made a short clip inking an eye, but it was so small to appreciate what went into what you were doing. How about a larger clip, or a YouTube clip?

And yeah, more tutes! You rock. And a very Happy Birthday, wishing you 40 pounds less.

Hi Brian,

Hip Hip Hooray! Happy Birthday!.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I'll drink a Dr. Pepper to your good health.

Also thanks for sharing your craft and talent.

I normally hang around here anonymously. But registered this time to ask for something.
(And also because you encourage us to do so in this very post.)
This is a big one : Would you be willing to do an Illustrator drawing and inking tutorial DVD for http://www.digitalarttutorials.com/ .
Or your own website ofcourse. Either way, I would buy it instantly.
Also a tutorial DVD for comics colouring with Illustrator will be very welcome.
All tutorials for sale at that website are for Photoshop/Painter only. But I prefer Illustrator.
I already asked once in their forum, if there were others using the tutorial CDs/DVDs with Illustrator. But no joy.
See here : http://www.digitalarttutorials.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=103&highlight=

I fail to understand why there are so many tutorials for Photoshop, and so few for Illustrator.

Anyway, I'm prepared to get no for an answer. But if I do not ask you now, I will never forgive myself for a missed opportunity.

Enjoy your day.

Cheers,
Robert.

I have been visiting this site for a while, but I signed up for an account simply leave this comment.

I have been checking in regularly (about once a week) since I found out about this site and am quite happy that you are going to be posting content. That you were open to what to pose make me quite happy.

Here's my comment then. My internship was in ALL Adobe Illustrtor, and I know the program VERY well, to the degree that I am thinking of possibly teaching it somewhere, and more concretely that my first web comic was done entirely in Adobe Illustrator. While my professional arts style has incorporated hand drawn and inking for the characters and backgrounds I build in Adobe Illustrator.

Why the bio? So that when I say how excited I was when I stumbled on your blog site to find someone that used the tools in Illustrator as powerful as they can be used.

I had gotten to a point where I was basically doing all I could with Illustrator and then I stumbled upon your site and was so excited that there was not only so much to learn but that there was a place to learn about it.

I would not go so far as to say it gave me a new direction in my artwork, but the information definetely showed me a path of how to get where I wanted to go but did not have to tools or the map how to get there. Yes I'm that excited to hear and read about learning more about using Adobe Illustrator in my illustration style.

As I said I incorporate hand drawn characters in an Adobe Illustrator enviornment and am very VERY interested in learning all you have to post on how you do the wonderful work you do with Illustrator. What you post, I use.

Frankly, I can get pretty pictures else where. I'm interested in learning how you do what you do with a program that I always knew it could do what you get it to do.

My vote is tutorials. Web comic might be quite fun, but if you do do one PLEASE have an tutorial on how you did something in the web comic with Illustrator. if you are asking what I'd like I would love to first see tutorials and "how to's" and if you do do artwork or a web comic how you did that.

So that's my vote.

Oh two two questions.

1) I wanted to email you but I dould not find an email, maybe I wasn't looking hard enough
2) Are you going to San Diego Comic Con? If you are I'd love to meet up and say hi.I can give you my booth number if you are interested.

thanks for all the information you've taught. I look forward to more.
